You made a special edition I don't like...
The orange is quite nice, but it's ruined by all the University of Texas Longhorns stuff on it.

Needs more Crimson & White.

Reckon this is pretty close on the color... just needs Camaro style tuxedo white stripes.
Though I'd hate to mistake it for a Georgia edition Bulldogs truck.

Ah, Canadian Nascar.

That's got to be specific to Austin area dealers though, right? I don't see anyone in the College Station Chevrolet dealers group (or any dealer group outside the Hill Country) moving any burnt orange trucks, never mind ones with those Longhorn logos on the side.
Do any of the truck manufacturers not have a Texas-specific special edition truck available? Or did Ford stop making the Kimg Ranch edition F250?

Ford still has the King Ranch for all of their models. Chevrolet has the High Country for the top of the lines on all of their trucks, along with a Texas Edition for the Suburban and Tahoe, but that's not like this. Ram has the Laramie Longhorn which is comparable to those two you could say.

Waiting for the Colorado to come in a Cannabis Edition. (see what I did there?) Available only in Bud Green.

Ah, gotcha. I'm not someone that's ever been a buyer in the truck market so everything I know comes from fuzzy memories of TV commercials.
Didn't Toyota have a Texas TRD edition Tundra that was nothing but an appearance package? I don't know why but I seem to remember that though I don't have the first clue where I might have read that

Toyota has the 1794 Edition which is largely just an interior thing and some badges. Basically them saying "We can make a big, American truck too" kinda deal. Nissan has a Texas Package on their top line model, which is basically an appearance pack too.
You could say that trucks are kinda my thing.

It definitely sounds as if they are.
You'd think being born and raised in Texas I would have at least becomes interested in trucks somewhere along the way but they're just not something that's ever grabbed my attention.
And it's not that I don't like them, I do. Lots of my friends and most of the males in the family drive pickups exclusively and have for years, I've just never been able to see myself needing a truck often enough to warrant buying one

I've grown up in them and I've just fallen in love with them. We do enough stuff where I could see myself needing one.

Hey, if you can justify it based on need and they generate some excitement in you then buying anything but a truck wouldn't make sense. That's something I fully understand

Don't get me wrong, I love cars too, but there's just something different about trucks. Probably that do it all ability.

Too bad its made in Mexico.

Only the crew cabs are. So, if you want it made in the States get an HD or a Double or regular cab.

They make some crew cabs in Flint on the HD line. When my dad bought his I told him to only get one if the VIN started with a 1. Took the dealer a long time to find a truck that met his specs but he found one eventually. GM really needs to wake up and bring production back to the states. It's inexcusable IMO.
I guess mexico is closer to TX than Michigan though...

It is. IIRC all HD's are made in the states and only Crew Cab 1/2 tons are made in Mexico. They really do need to move them back up here. Arlington plant could take them I'd think. Especially after they just moved all the SUV's from there to Arlington. Plus, a truck made in Texas? Who wouldn't want that. Canyorado is made near St. Louis so that's good.

I realize my first sentence was very confusing. They make some crew cab 1/2 tons in Flint on what use to be the Kodiak line. I could go for a Texas made truck, would be very appropriate and as a bonus show Toyota up a bit.

It would be. Maybe we'll see them move it to Arlington at some point in the future. Don't understand why they can't make all in Flint and Fort Wayne. Probably $$$

I'm sure the profit margins on Mexican built trucks are hard to turn down.
